I grew up in South Philadelphia and am a proud product of Catholic education. My fondest memories are of Saint Edmond’s Grade School (now closed) which along with my parents truly laid the foundation for my strong faith in God. I am proud to say that many of the friendships formed in those early years are still a part of my life today. For high school, I attended Merion Mercy Academy where I received the best possible spiritual and academic education from the Sisters of Mercy, then onto LaSalle where I majored in Business with a concentration in Accounting. After college, I worked in the private and public sector until my first child was born.
I became interested in Elementary Education while assisting in my daughters’ classes when they were in kindergarten and first grade. Interacting with professional educators and working with children proved to be such positive experiences that I enrolled in Johns Hopkins University to pursue a Masters of Education. After we moved to Wilmington from the Washington, DC area, I finished my studies at Wilmington University.
